Best craft modelling material for making and molding intricate small models?
Katy B asked:
I’m trying to make a small (roughly 2 inch) trilobite model, and obviously its going to be hard with normal clay. I was thinking of epoxy clay, but cant find any UK dealers and its sooo expensive. Anything which is slightly harder than normal clay, air dries, and dries to a plastic-like, non brittle nature would be perfect and something which is easily available in the UK and not so pricey. Anything which is similar to this would be great.

I think you’d be best with Sculpy or Fimo. Sculpy is easier to form, but is a bit more breakable. Fimo is harder to form but is harder to break. Neither hardens in the air, however. They both must be baked in a home oven in fairly low temperatures. Both are also available in local arts/crafts stores, or from online supply warehouses.
