Plasticine melting/freezing point? (Sound deadening)?

I recently heard of people using Plasticine (modeling clay) for their speaker enclosures for sound deadening purposes. I am thinking that during the summer time this will melt, and winter time freeze.

Does anyone know when this stuff melts/freezes?

Plasticine is earth clay with oil as the liquid medium. It softens a lot as you get near body temp and gets messy if left in sun (110F+). It gets stiffer and stiffer with cold and if refrigerated (45F) will be so stiff that a person can lean on it without denting it.
If in a car interior, I would expect it to ooze oil into to the wood in summer and change tone in cold weather.
