Paper mache for the cell membrane might be cool. The nucleus could be a balloon, like the water bomb type, and you could use thread to represent DNA.

When I was in 5th grade a long time ago, I made an animal cell model out of a pie tin. I filled the bottom with blue colored window art, then used different food to represent organelles (I was supposed to use food), but I’m sure you can find substitutes. Mine came out very good looking, especially for a 5th grader. I use licorice for the cell membrane, peanuts for the vacuoles, marshmallows for the mitochondria, and I put tooth picks with labels stuck to the top like flags to label each organelle. But that’s all I can remember, it was half my life ago. If this helps you at all it gave you a base for your model.
