What material should I use to make a 3D DNA model?

Megannnx asked:

I’m making a DNA model for my biology class, and I want to be creative with what material I use.
I was thinking about using pipe cleaners and beads, but that would be unoriginal.
I was also thinking about using clay, but that would be too heavy.
It cannot be Styrofoam, or any food based product.

The model has to be about 3-4 feet tall, and please keep in mind that I am only a student in high school.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Thanks, Jojo, I was thinking about using Styrofoam as well, but my teacher said that we can’t use that material . Thank you though .

hobby lobby, michael’s, (some place like that) they have large styrofoam balls. Use them as the building blocks. From there, you can spray paint them. and use a glue gun to attach.

Test tube cleaners, beads/wooden balls, all those things come in different colors and can be glued or stuck into the styrofoam easily.

Cheap and light weight.

Good luck
