Has anyone got any good alternative uses for old CD/DVDs? ?

JayDax asked:

I have hundreds of them lying around. from old magazine disks to long since updated software. Surely there must be alternative uses for them ( I already have enough wind chimes/mobiles)

I once did an entire wall of my bedroom with old CDs…just stuck em up with two sided tape to make a cool geometric pattern. They also make good skeet if you’re into shooting. Just please clean up the mess afterward.

OMG i want a ton of useless cd’s like that!!! i’d just line them up, connect them, and hang it on a wall, OR if you want, you can do what i think is REALLY cool and break up the discs and make mosaics

Coasters, frisbees, rear-view mirror hangers, earrings, mirrors, skeet shooting targets.

Use them for bike reflectors. OR hang the shiny sides up on your wall for light reflectors. Make coasters out of them. hang them in a cherry tree to keep the birds away. Or on a garden fence to keep critters away.

If you are creative or artistic then paint a picture or glue one to the disc. One it is dry the buy a small battery operated clock from a craft store and attach it thru the hole in the disc. Makes a good cheap gift for the comp geek. Possibilities are endless.
