How did the arts and crafts movement help modern day artists?

rock.on_xo asked:

I have a project on the arts and crafts movement and I can’t answer that question - I have written that artists can learn a lot by studying earlier movements but thats it..

that’s a good one..and to discover more about arts and crafts is to go beyond your imagination..and learn to combine the classics and the future for better outcome..

It helped modern day artists because it merged arts and crafts. An art and a craft art two very separate things. A piece of art is something that is created for the sole purpose of being viewed and contemplated. A craft is something that is created with a basis in function. Being separate, art is to be seen/thought and craft is to be used. The arts and crafts movement infused the two. Crafts can now be about function and concept…as art can be about concept and function.

I could make this a lot longer…if you would like to know more….just contact me.
